The March Violets

The March Violets

The March Violets were a great band...

...A really great band. They were labelmates with The Sisters of Mercy, yet darker and infinitely more messed up than them, and through constant gigging they became integral to the whole Leeds/M62 scene in the early/mid 1980s. John Peel loved them. He wasn’t alone.

Then in 2006 we started to communicate more, and in December 2007 a one-off gig took place. That was the plan… hundreds of people turned up and let the band know – very vocally indeed – how pleased they were to see The March Violets back onstage. An astonishing welcome back and the band have yet to read a bad word about the show, and that is some achievement.

Then it became clear that there were new songs waiting to be brought into the light of day. A lot of new songs. The first EP ‘Trinity’ was released in 2007, followed by ‘Love Will Kill You’ in 2011, and 2012 sees the forthcoming release of ‘Made Glorious’ an album of completely new material.
