Had ordered beer in straight glasses. I knew them at once:

From technicolour gloss in A level History.
“You both look fatter,” I said, “than the pictures.”
“There’s court portraitists for you,” boomed Nefertiti,
Halfway through her pint. Patted a teak-stained
Roll of fat which hung about her navel. “Likewise:
When did you last see a royal virgin painted fat?”
Blared Elizabeth, and thumped me on the back…”

What would 'Jaws' look like distorted by poets, comedians, and musicians?
With guests including Rosie Garland
FLIM NITE is a monthly performance event based at Three Minute Theatre in Manchester's Northern Quarter. At no point do we show the film in question!
Each of our performers has been given a chunk of 'Jaws' to turn into something new. Come and watch as our acts transform an action-packed spooky-shark blockbuster into something unrecognisable for your viewing pleasure.
We will not be showing a movie. We will be making a flim.
There are a limited number of open mic slots available! Email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for a slot. Remember it's flim as in FLIM and nite as in NITE. Got it? Slots are three minutes long and material must be 'Jaws'-related.

Boasting the fabulous talents of Rosie Garland and hosted by Salford's own Kieren King.
Not to be missed!
Also eight open mic spots are available (one poem - two minutes per poet) on a first come first served basis so if you would like a slot please arrive early to avoid disappointment. We are filming each night so everyone who performs will get a shiny new Youtube video if they want one.
Host, multiple slam winner Kieren King says "If you walk down a street and see three signs, one advertising live music, one advertising live comedy and the third advertising live poetry chances are people would go to either of the first two. We are looking to change that and give people a fun and entertaining night out".
